Teddy Bear Quilt

This was such a fun quilt to do.  I did a little loopy meandering inside the bear to make it looks like he has curly hair and put a bear paw in the cornerstones.

Mother's Day Quilt

I made this quilt in a hurry!  I thought that I had a week to complete it and had put the top together just before the tornados hit our area on April 27th.  We had plans of visiting my mother in Florida for mother's day and I really wanted to have it finished for her.  I had already spent a good deal of time doing the embroidery on the center block which named all of my mother's children, grandchildren and great grand children.  There are 28 of us in all.

After the tornado the power was out for a full week.  It was like a camping trip where we were able to take our very comfortable bed with us.  We live out on the deck cooking our meals including the morning coffee on our gas grill.  The weather was a steady 70 degrees with clear sunny skies.  What a beautiful week.  When the power finally come on it was a mad rush to get the house back in order and this this quilt on the long arm to be quilted for Mom.

I had gotten the binding machine sewn on the front side and was about to start hand stitching when my husband came up to my sewing room and said "throw it in the truck and lets go!"   So...the binding was hand stitched on in the car on the way to Florida and Mom's gift was delivered on time.

I think she's proud of it and I'm just proud that I was able to finish it on time.

Now Father's day will be here soon.....Here I go again!
